Position Summary

The primary purpose of the Business Service Coordinator is to maintain and reconcile the financial and business records within the School of Education.

The Business Services Coordinator is an integral part of the business office located within the School of Education.

Responsibilities includes:

1. Maintains and reconcile funds.

2. Initiates and coordinates purchasing documents, including but not limited to purchase orders, PCard transactions and contract management.

3. Maintains personnel files and records, track School of Education commitments, prepares reports, and serves as the HR liaison for the SPA staff.

4. Utilizes Banner software to approve and process expenditure forms daily and post to account ledger.

5. Prepares budget transactions and accounting processes.

6. Policy administration for School of Education.

7. Assists, monitor and trains departments/ offices in the processing of personnel action/ payroll forms.

8. Assists the Business Officer in tracking funding commitments made by the school.

Minimum Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications

Seeking candidate with experience within a university system, preferably the UNC system, thorough knowledge of Banner, E-marketplace and PCard reconciliation.
Considerable knowledge of budgeting, accounting, personnel practices and knowledge of organizational and governance of higher education.
Knowledge and experience with computer application, software and information systems, experience in Banner Finance a plus.
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and communicate well with others in a team environment and to interpret and apply a wide range of policies and procedures and share this information as needed.
Ability to problem-solve, develop contingency plans and respond to changing circumstances.
Ideal candidate much be able to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with an extensive group of university employees, university officials, business contacts and the general public.
