Position Summary

The Office of Research in the School of Education (SOE) supports faculty, staff and students who are developing new ideas, seeking financial support for projects, or engaging in contractual partnerships.

In addition to contract and grant development and submission support (Pre-Award) and fiscal management of awards (Post-Award), the Office of Research:

  • Assists new faculty in developing long-term research plans;
  • Supports short-term research that may lead to longer-term projects and impacts;
  • Provides research design and methodology assistance;
  • Supports collaborative work, outreach initiatives and community-based research
  • Supports for student-centered research for applied experience;
  • Facilitates speakers and workshops

The Post-Award Grants Coordinator in the School of Education (SOE) Office of Research is the primary point of contact and support for faculty who have projects funded by contracts and/or grants. The purpose of this position is to assist SOE faculty with the day-to-day financial management of contract and grant funds housed in the school. As part of the SOE Office of Research team, the Post-Award Grants Coordinator will help develop and apply internal policies and procedures related to the fiscal management of externally-funded projects. The Post-Award Grants Coordinator will also help facilitate Post-Award and fiscal management training for staff hired on sponsored projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience in Research Administration/Post-Award and fiscal management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UNCG Banner HR and processing grant-related Electronic Personal Action Forms (EPAFs) is preferred.
  • Perform work responsibilities while using considerable judgement
  • Work independently with limited direct supervision, and in collaboration with multiple stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, UNCG central offices and project partners.
  • Motivated, solutions- and systems- oriented thinker
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal skills including ability to write internal communication
  • Highly organized with attention to detail, accuracy and efficient workflow
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities
