Position Summary

The Financial Systems Accountant is responsible for ongoing ERP system upgrades and implementations of new and existing products, maintaining system settings, performing research and analytical tasks, and testing and troubleshooting when needed, as well as, serving as a resource for Accounting Services functional personnel, principally within the General Accounting and Payroll units. This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial data within the University’s Banner Finance and Banner Payroll information system and for designing, testing, and implementing business process enhancements to the Banner ERP system, as well as subsidiary/third part business systems, such as Jaggaer AP Director, Chrome River Travel, Time Clock Plus, etc. This position ensures that appropriate accounting internal controls are effectively implemented throughout the business process including cash management.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate’s degree in accounting; or Associate’s degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. all degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA or CMA Certification and/or MBA or MS in related field
Strong experience with documentation of processes and procedures, and effective implementation of cross-training of functional staff
Strong experience with Microsoft Excel
