Position Summary

UNCG Online offers services and programs to support and grow online education at UNCG, primarily focused on new online program planning and incubation, online course development, marketing and recruitment, faculty support, and online student support services. In addition, in concert with UNCG faculty, UNCG Online leads and supports various academic projects and initiatives related to shaping the future of online learning at UNCG.

The Online Recruitment and Outreach Liaison will serve as the initial point of contact for UNCG Online inquiries. S/he will provide clear communication and support to prospective students and generate an engaging rapport with a high volume of prospective students by providing excellent customer service in all interactions (phone, email, chat, in-person) with potential students; advise and assist prospective students regarding the policies and procedures of the college, including admissions, academic and graduation requirements; assist students in interpreting the college catalog; facilitate online webinars to support recruitment and retention of both undergraduate and graduate prospective students; establish effective communication and develop relationships with online program managers, enrollment management, student affairs and other student support offices; attend and participate in meetings/committees related to assigned responsibilities; leverage and manage customer relationship management processes; work closely with UNCG Online marketing with inbound marketing system – automated inquiry management and lead nurturing; fact check materials for distribution or publication; create, maintain, modify, and/or ensure accuracy of content in various office documents, reports, websites, and other media; assist with UNCG Online outreach, recruitment and retention initiatives/efforts at both undergraduate and graduate level, representing UNCG Online in a positive and professional manner, raising awareness of online opportunities available at UNCG; establish internal and external partner relationships; use data to inform outreach and retention initiatives; manage caseload of advisees; serve as secondary advising support for UNCG Online programs, assisting primary advisor with monitoring student progress and developing student success tools and services; perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with a minimum of three years of experience working in academic advising, counseling, retention or other student success initiatives or related/equivalent experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- A Master’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of three years of experience working in academic advising, counseling, retention or other student success initiatives in a higher education setting is preferred.
- Experience working in an online environment
- Solutions-oriented, innovative thinker
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and student service skills including ability to write effective student recruitment correspondence and internal communication, and effectively present information in informal and public (including large group) settings.
- Highly organized with attention to detail, accuracy and efficient workflow
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities
- Data analysis orientation, including collecting, evaluating and interpreting, and using data to inform decision making
- Customer relationship management experience
