Position Summary

The UNCG School of Music seeks a non-tenure track clarinet instructor for full-time employment with benefits. The candidate must be able to show evidence of successful clarinet performance and clarinet instruction on a university or college level. Teaching experience in applied clarinet and related courses at the
collegiate level. Responsibilities include:
- Teach studio clarinet
- Provide studio administration and support
- Faculty governance service and participation in recruiting
- Additional areas of teaching and service may be determined depending upon School needs, candidates’ individual interests, qualifications, and expertise

The UNCG School of Music, a fully accredited member of NASM since 1938, is a unit of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and is the only institution in North Carolina offering comprehensive degrees in music performance and music education from the baccalaureate through the doctorate with over 70 faculty members teaching a music student body of c. 600 majors. For years, the School’s alumni have distinguished themselves in important professional positions throughout the world while its student ensembles continue to perform frequently in prestigious state, regional, and international settings. Since 1999, the School of Music has occupied a building that affords students and faculty up-to-date technology and an outstanding environment for all aspects of music study and performance.

Doctoral Degree in Music Performance or equivalent professional experience
