Position Summary

Operations Manager -

The MBA Program Office provides administrative and student services support to the following graduate programs:

  • MBA and its related graduate programs
  • MSA
  • International exchange agreements linked to MBA.
  • MISTIM and related certificates

The office provides recruiting, admissions, orientation, advising support for prospective and enrolled students in the stated graduate programs. The office maintains all student records and is staffed by 3 full-time professionals, 1-2 graduate assistants and 1 work study student. The office supports over 250 enrolled students, approximately 25 graduate assistants and processes over 300 applications per year. The stakeholders are graduate students, graduate faculty, university staff, and the community.

The Operations Manager is a critical position in the MBA Program Office. This position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the office and interacting with all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the MBA Office
  • Knowledge management, including maintaining student services website
  • Manage short-term study abroad program
  • Plan and execute multiple events throughout the year
  • Manage and supervise graduate assistants and work study students
  • Monitor and maintain the office budget and supervisory responsibilities.

This position reports to the Administrative Director of Graduate Programs

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with graduate students
  • Experience with website content management software, survey administration software, knowledge management processes and Banner
  • Experience with purchasing and budget reconciliation
  • Experience studying/living/traveling abroad
  • Excellent written and oral communications
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Experience with event management

Ability to identify, understand and provide possible resolutions for unique issues and problems that with broad impact and/or a broad range of client services.
Ability to lead teams in the modification of processes using applicable technology web-based data systems and programs.

3. Customer Service (Journey) – Ability to explain the application of policies and procedures in terms of client needs and business results and goals. Ability to identify options and make recommendations within established guidelines to meet competing needs.
Ability to develop and maintain productive and collaborative work relationships in order to facilitate effective service in assigned area and problem resolution with clients.
Knowledge of the value of program services to the client and how to deliver those services

4. Communication – Verbal/Written (Journey) –
Ability to explain the application of processes and procedures using sources that clients can reference. Ability to convey information with specific references to guidelines, systems operation, vendor materials, policies and/or procedures or other sources. Ability to create presentations using a variety of media to convey meaningful information to an individual or group.
