Position Summary

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for identifying, cultivating and recruiting potential applicants for admissions as traditional first-time freshmen, transfers, and nontraditional adults; collecting and evaluating credentials; making decisions regarding individuals’ candidacies for admission to UNCG; and positively affecting admitted students decisions to matriculate to UNCG. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions serves as a major public relations arm of the institution and helps to shape a positive image of the University through its interaction with parents, prospective students, high school and college counselors, alumni and other external agencies. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions communicates to the public the academic, programmatic and developmental offerings that UNCG provides for its students. Through its activities, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions supports the University’s enrollment goals as they pertain to new traditional and non-traditional undergraduates.

Position plans, develops and implements recruitment plan to cultivate applications, support these students throughout the application and enrollment process, represents the University and establishes relationships with area high schools and independent counselors through visits, college fairs and events, and partners with local UNCG Alumni Club to engage alumni in the recruitment process. Provides outstanding customer service through email, phone calls and follow up with prospective students, applicants and newly enrolled students. Counsels various classifications of students including, but not limited to traditional, non-traditional transfer, and second degree. Evaluates academic credentials to determine the admissibility of first-year and transfer applications. Leads in planning of recruitment events in the assigned area, attends Undergraduate Admissions fall and spring open houses and other Admissions events on campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
Outstanding public speaking skills, project management/event planning skills
Valid diver’s license
3+ years of experience in recruitment/admissions at the undergraduate level

Prior event planning experience
