Position Summary

The Kaplan Center for Wellness at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) provides programs, services, and resources to increase student awareness of wellness issues. Program includes, but are not limited to, AlcoholEdu for all first year students, alcohol and other drugs, body image, eating disorders, healthy and unhealthy relationships, nutrition, sexual assault, and stress management education.

This position is responsible for coordinating educational and environmental strategies aimed at the prevention of sexual and interpersonal violence and the promotion of healthy, respectful relationships and healthy, consensual sexual activity among UNCG students.

Duties Include:

  • Planning, implementing and evaluating educational activities and environmental strategies aimed at influencing healthy behaviors;
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating environmental strategies;
  • Delivering educational presentations and other co-curricular programming such as informal and formal discussions, film series, etc., on the issues of interpersonal violence;
  • Raising awareness of Violence Prevention and of the issue of sexual/interpersonal violence;
  • Networking with other campus departments and community agencies in order to plan and implement educational and environmental activities and to address other campus issues that relate to sexual/interpersonal violence;
  • Developing and implementing campus wide bystander intervention training program;
  • Developing and/or updating manuals, webpage and workshops that reflect current research and practice;
  • Evaluating and assessing programmatic effectiveness through regular qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis;
  • Demonstrating an understanding of cultural competency;
  • Participating in continuing education activities;
  • Developing a plan to address sexual violence prevention in the community;
  • Coordinating the implementation of sexual violence prevention strategies;
  • Performing other duties as directed by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health Education or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in sexual violence prevention
