The Department of Social Work at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications and nominations to join us in our online Master of Science (MS) in Gerontology Program. We are seeking one 12 month, non-tenure, academic professional track (APT) Assistant Professor. This position is available Summer 2017. The successful candidate will serve as Coordinator of the asynchronous online Master’s in Gerontology Program and will, specific to the MS Program:
APT faculty are fixed-term, non-tenure track positions that come with full UNCG Benefits. This is an especially exciting time for UNCG’s Department of Social Work as we enter our forty-fifth year of partnership with the Department of Sociology and Social Work at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCA&T), a historically black university (HBCU) located in Greensboro. Specifically, both the Joint Master of Social Work (JMSW) Program and the BSW Program with NCA&T, have enjoyed a forty-four-year-old field program partnership. UNCG’s Department of Social Work has 300 BSW majors, 90 MSW students, and 15 full-time faculty. The Department, School, and University place a high value on community-engaged scholarship.

UNCG’s Department of Social Work has CSWE-accredited BSW and MSW programs and National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE)-accredited BSW and MSW school social work licensure programs. The Department has external funding from the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other sources.
